Calvin Ellis, PA-C
Mr. Ellis is a native of Craven County. He received his BS in Business
Administration from Mount Olive College in 1997. He then graduated from
the East Carolina University Physician Assistant program with a BS
degree in 2003. Later that same year he completed his Masters Degree
from Duke University in Physician Assistant studies.
Mr. Ellis is Board Certified as a Physician Assistant, and he completes a
minimum of 50 hours of Continuing Education annually.
Mr. Ellis worked as a medical provider at ECU's Student Health Service
from 2003-2007. In 2007 he co-founded Wintergreen Medical Center with
Dr. Craig Simpson.
He has three children, Brittany, Amber, and Braxton, and is a member of
the Gold Point Church of Christ in Robersonville.

Sharon Gambill, Certified Medical Assistant
Marion Denny, Medical Assistant
Marion is a Medical Assistant. She attended Southwest Edgecombe
High School and Pitt Community College where she received her
medical assistant training. She has been with WMC since 2009.
She is married to Scott, and they have two children Aidan and Sierra.
She enjoys hunting, fishing and football.
Sharon has been with Wintergreen Medical Center since we first
opened in 2007.
Sharon was born in Texas and moved to North Carolina with her
husband Stanley in 2000. She has been a Nationally Certified Medical
Assistant since 1996.
Sharon lives in Farmville with her husband, Stanley, and their two
children, Connor and Dalton. She loves Halloween and Christmas.

Adriana Enriquez, Medical Receptionist
Adriana is from Texas and moved to NC in her early teens.
She graduated from Greene County High School. She is a
State Notary Public.
She has taken courses at Lenoir Community College and
She likes to travel.
Carol Gates DNP, FNP- BC
Carol Gates has earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
from East Carolina University and is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Gates is a daughter of Italian immigrants. She grew up in Norfolk, VA
where her father retired from the US Navy and her mother took care of
her brother, her, and many other children. She received her BS in
Biology from Old Dominion University in 2001. She then graduated from
Tidewater Community College with an Associate degree in Nursing in
2005. She later moved to North Carolina and earned her BS in Nursing
from Fayetteville State University in 2012. Before earning her DNP
degree, she gained many experiences and friends as a medical-surgical
nurse, case manager, assistant nurse manager and as an operating room
nurse. Dr. Gates strives to continue learning evidence-based practice
and is excited to be providing high-quality health care to members of her
community at Wintergreen Medical Center.
She loves going on adventures and spending time with her family
especially her three sons- Timothy, Nicholas and Jonathan. She likes
volunteering in her community and is a member of St Peter Catholic
